When Aliyah reached out to to ask me about flowers for her wedding we bypassed all the usual formalities! Aliyah is a former student, a fellow educator, and a friend - and I was delighted to bring her vision to life. Aliyah and Camden are avid adventurers and knew they would tie the knot on the slopes of their beloved Burke Mountain. It was a perfect fall day in the waning days of late September, complete with the lingering heat and sun of a summer-reluctant to let go. Blousy hydrangeas and the last harvest of my garden flowers provided lush accents to their mountain peak ceremony backdrop. An intimate affair for their closest friends and family, guests enjoyed the reception meal at two banquet tables that we adorned with the last of the season's colorful zinnias, gomphrena, cosmos, and asters. Aliyah and Camden's wedding party anchored the look in gray and sage green so we kept the wedding party flowers neutral and let the landscape steal the show. Who are we kidding? Aliyah & Camden didn't even have to try to capture everyone's undivided attention. Here's to happily ever after, you two!
